Liz Gardner
Physiotherapist & MCSP

Liz’s physiotherapy career started in 2001 within Poole NHS Trust after graduating from Coventry University with a 1st class honours degree. She worked in the NHS as a senior member of the Musculoskeletal team, progressing to Orthopaedic team leader specialising in trauma and rehabilitation. Working closely with a range of consultants she became heavily involved in the development of various evidence based musculoskeletal and orthopaedic protocols. In addition, she worked for both the Nuffield and Harbour private hospitals and spent time outside of work setting up and providing a physiotherapy service for the Under 18s Dorset County Rugby teams. She ran an injury prevention screening programme and has developed this for several other sporting teams and clubs over the years.
Liz gained further musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and paediatric experience working both in the private sector and for various NHS trusts including Kent, Southampton and the Isle of Man as a senior physiotherapist. Liz has extensive experience in the sporting field, working for various professional teams over the years before moving to Somerset where she established Central Somerset Physiotherapy. Liz enjoys treating a wide range of conditions and has a special interest in muscle and joint pathologies and soft tissue therapy. She works with a wide range of clients treating elite sporting athletes, paediatric patients, various neurological conditions and the elderly. She is involved with several local sporting teams providing injury screening, physiotherapy assessment and treatment and sport massage.
Due to her expertise and popular demand Liz now works for Central Somerset Physiotherapy on a full time basis. In addition, Liz is also an experienced sports massage practitioner having worked with national sporting competitors and she is also a qualified personal trainer enabling her to rehabilitate her clients to the highest level within the sporting and gym environment.
Between juggling family life and practicing in the Burnham-on-Sea clinic, Liz is most often found training and competing in the sport of triathlon.
Owners Andy and Liz have ensured that Central Somerset Physiotherapy, having treatment facilities in the Blackbrook Leisure Centre, Gym Yeovil, Watergate Studios, Bridgwater and the Burnham Swim & Sports Academy has become an integral part of local athlete’s preparation, injury prevention and rehabilitation regimes. Recently Liz and Andy have opened two private gym facilities in Wells and East Brent. Enabling a more personal experience, one to one training sessions, run gait assessments, strength, conditioning and sports specific rehabilitation.
Liz is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) allowing the use of acupuncture as an adjunct to treatment and has a keen interest in occupational physiotherapy and work related injuries. Liz is also a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sport.
Andy Gardner
Physiotherapist & MCSP

Andy graduated from Southampton University with a 1st class honours degree in Physiotherapy three years after achieving a 1st class honours degree in Sport & Exercise Science at Cheltenham & Gloucester College of Higher Education. Prior to gaining qualifications at a degree level Andy pursued a career in the fitness industry as a fitness instructor, RSA Exercise to Music instructor, ASA Swimming instructor and GP referral coordinator. It is from this background that he developed a keen interest in sport injuries which led him down the career path of physiotherapy.
Andy started his physiotherapy career within Poole NHS Trust where he quickly progressed to a senior level. He later left Poole, moving back to his home county in Somerset to develop a private practice which later became Central Somerset Physiotherapy.
He has completed a diploma in Orthopaedic medicine and has a wealth of experience in Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic physiotherapy. His previous role as a personal trainer coupled with representing Great Britain as a youth and junior in the sport of triathlon naturally led to him becoming a physiotherapy sport injury specialist. He has worked with several sporting teams and schools and provides regular running gait analysis and rehabilitation for various sporting competitors ranging from a recreational to elite level. He is also qualified and offers treatment for BPPV.
Andy’s spare time is largely taken up by his young family and sport. He continues to participate in sport concentrating on triathlon and cycle sportive events. It is through this interest that Central Somerset Physiotherapy maintains a close link with local sporting clubs.
Christopher Weiss
Physiotherapist & MCSP
Chris graduated from the University of Plymouth in 2008 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy.
Chris gained extensive experience of a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions working as a Senior Physiotherapist in the NHS in Somerset and is now a full time private physiotherapist. He has undertaken postgraduate training in acupuncture, becoming a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists, and has gained a Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys jogging & hillwalking, with a particular interest in rugby and rowing.
Anthony Lloyd-Bostock
Physiotherapist & MCSP
Anthony has been qualified as a physiotherapist for 13 years after graduating from Cardiff University in 2005. Prior to this he also achieved a degree in sport’s science at Southampton University in 2002 in which he gained excellent diagnostic and rehabilitation skills.
As a physiotherapist, he has worked in both the private sector and the NHS and has a wealth of musculoskeletal, sport injury rehab and generalised physiotherapy experience. He has also completed his Society of Orthopaedic Medicine Diploma and is a qualified injection therapist. He is currently working for Central Somerset Physiotherapy alongside his Extended Scope Practitioner position within the NHS.
Outside of Central Somerset Physiotherapy, Anthony is a regular runner and a keen squash and tennis player.
Lauren Webley
Physiotherapist & MCSP

Lauren graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2008 with a BSc in Physiotherapy. During her final year at university, she completed a module in acupuncture and an elective placement with Notts County Cricket Club
Since graduating, she completed her rotations as a junior physiotherapist in the NHS until 2010 where she followed her passion in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and later the same year became a Senior MSK physio.
Whilst also working within the NHS Lauren sought to develop her skills in sports and paediatric physiotherapy and worked for 5 years with the local mens rugby team and Watford Football Academy.
From 2013, in addition to her NHS work, Lauren set up a private practice at Merchants Taylor's School Northwood, mostly treating the children and some staff. She also worked closely with the schools sports department to help develop the senior athletes in Rugby, Cricket and Hockey by performing pre season injury prevention screening as well as pitch side cover. Furthermore she was able to spend some time shadowing the physio at Middlesex CCC who's first team regularly trained at the school.
Alongside many MSK postgraduate courses, Lauren has completed paediatric orthopaedic workshops and attended a young athletes conference put together by the association of physiotherapists in sports and exercise medicine. She therefore likes to specialise in paediatrics and young athletes, but still enjoys and has a vast experience in working with a huge range of adult injuries and conditions.
Outside of Physiotherapy Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband and two young girls exploring what Somerset and the southwest has to offer since their recent move from Hertfordshire.
Samatha Jenkins
Physiotherapist & MCSP
Sam graduated from Brunel University in 2009 with a BSc (Hons) physiotherapy degree. She has gained a wide range of physiotherapy assessment and treatment skills working in the NHS, private sector and various sporting environments including both football and netball.
She has under taken a variety of postgraduate training including level 2 APPI Pilates and acupuncture. Away from work she enjoys running and playing netball.
Dr. Niels Hak
MD Antwerp 1992
Niels has had a passion for sports from early age onwards.
A former NHS Doctor, now a self-employed Personal Trainer and Nordic Walking instructor with exercise referral qualification and a special interest in running form analysis and remedial coaching. He provides 1:1 Personal Training sessions, low intensity indoor exercise classes, free local Wellness walks and he organises Nordic Walking Courses and walks in the Mendip area.

Albert N K Balachandar
Physiotherapist & MCSP
Albert completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree in India in 2005. After his Bachelor degree he worked in various MSK out-patient settings within India. During his work in India he also pursued his career as a sports physiotherapist, working in sports centres and mainly managing case loads from national and local cricket clubs. In 2008 he moved to the UK to pursue his Master’s in Neuromusculoskeletal Healthcare at Keele University.
Following his successful completion of his Master’s, he started to work as a senior physiotherapist and later as an out-patient team lead in a leading MSK clinic in Abu-Dhabi, UAE. Currently he works as a senior MSK out-patient physiotherapist in a Dorset University Hospital. He also holds a certificate in dry needling, a certificate in spinal manual therapy and certificate in vestibular rehabilitation.
Outside of his career, Albert enjoys his time with his wife, two children, music and motorcycles.
Steph Bere
Physiotherapist & MCSP
Steph graduated from The University of the West of England in 2015, with a degree in Physiotherapy (BScHons), and went on to work in elite sports development. She has five years’ experience as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist, with interests in sports performance and rehabilitation. Steph went on to attend Hartpury University to study a Master’s degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy, which she completed in early 2021 with a distinction, and is a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy (ACPAT). Steph now combine working at CSP with her animal physiotherapy work. Outside of work Steph is a keen horse woman and competes her own two horses in eventing.
Marta Brachmann
Physiotherapist & MCSP
Marta graduated from Silesia Medical University in Katowice, Poland in 2011 with a Masters Physiotherapy degree.
In 2013, she completed postgraduate studies in Sport and Conditioning Preparation in Team Games in Physical Education Academy in Katowice, Poland.
Since graduating, she has gained knowledge and experience in MSK disorders and sport injuries physiotherapy through working in the private sector. Having a sporting background and education in sports physiotherapy led her to specialised in sport injury prevention and rehabilitation working with professional athletes and young tennis players.
Marta has a keen interest in functional neurology techniques to facilitate recovery.
Outside of work she enjoys mountain activities and running and writing her travelling blog alongside playing in a local table tennis club. She also volunteers in wildlife rescue centres.
Rachael Owers
Physiotherapist & MCSP
Rachael qualified as a physiotherapist in 2017 and has a wealth of experience in general medicine, orthopaedics, respiratory and neurology.
Rachael currently works privately for Central Somerset Physiotherapy and in addition works across two GP practices alongside completing a Masters Module in First Contact Physiotherapy.
Rachael has a particular interest in running and sports injuries as well as rehabilitation post strokes.
Will Astill
Physiotherapist & MCSP
Graduated from Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2018 with a degree in Sports Conditioning, Rehabilitation and Massage.
Whilst in Cardiff, I specialised in sports rehabilitation and strength and conditioning. During my studies, I interned as a strength and conditioning coach with the Youth Physical Development Centre working with elite youth athletes and worked as a rehab therapist in a sports physiotherapy clinic. I then progressed my studies at the University of the West of England and graduated as Physiotherapist in 2022. I currently work as a senior physiotherapist in Somerset Foundation Trust.
I recently worked as Head of Medical Services in semi-professional rugby with Old Redcliffians. I have a passion for musculoskeletal medicine and an interest in lower limb injuries.
Matt Rowe
Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist MCSP
Graduated from the University of Gloucestershire in 2017 with a first-class honours in Sports Fitness & Physical Activity.
Followed by my Masters in Physiotherapy at the University of Southampton. I then started my career in the NHS, where I began rotations as a Junior Physiotherapist in Torbay. Within Neurological Rehabilitation, Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Trauma & Orthopaedics and Intermediate Care. Also part of the respiratory on-call service. Specialising in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2022.
Currently I work full-time in an NHS MSK Outpatients setting, where I see a variety of MSK pathologies that I primarily treat via exercise-based rehabilitation. I enjoy taking an holistic approach when treating clients by empowering them with the knowledge about their condition.
Out of work, I enjoy playing rugby.
Suzie Howe
Massage Therapist

Qualifying as a therapist over 40 years ago I have always continued to develop my skills throughout my career.
Working with many elite athletes and sports people as well as many keen recreational sportsmen and sportswoman throughout my career involves with golf, swimming, horse riding, tennis, rugby, cycling and football.
For many years I worked at the prestigious Harbour Club in Chelsea. I have also run my own college courses offering accreditation for ten years and now also offer advanced CPD (Continual Professional Development) courses for individual therapists, salons and spas alongside treating within my private practice.
I spent two years in the North of India from 2018 at the award-winning wellbeing spa ‘Ananda in the Himalayas Wells Spa' where I was Director of Training and Operations. Designing new treatments and developing the spa menu. I have enjoyed travelling extensively and bring many key elements of other cultures' treatments to my own therapies. I am also known for getting to the root of the problem and enjoy a challenge! Mental health, overall wellbeing and de-stressing my clients are important and believe a good work/life balance is key to a happy mind and body.
Aga Skalska
Physiotherapist & MCSP

Agnieszka graduated from the University of Physical Education in Wroclaw, Poland in 2005 with a master’s Physiotherapy degree. In 2012, she also completed a postgraduate study in Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences in ‘’Human nutrition in health’.
Agnieszka worked in the Medicine and Rehabilitation centre Medar and Promedis in Wroclaw. Gaining extensive experience of a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions, orthopaedics and trauma working as a Senior Physiotherapist. Additionally, she has gained knowledge and experience in general rehabilitation in the following departments: rheumatology, neurology, cardiology and pulmonology rehab. Agnieszka also worked in the Department of Cardiology and was involved in various projects regarding health prophylaxis.
Additionally, Agnieszka developed her professional interests by completing the specialist courses: McKenzie, deep tissue massage, diagnostics and osteopathic techniques, kinesiology taping, and also qualified as a Nordic walking and fitness instructor. Agnieszka also participated in plenty of conferences and scientific symposia’s.
In 2010, Agnieszka began work in the clinic Creator and joined a qualified team of physiotherapists MSC and supported them with extensive experience in the field of general rehabilitation (kinesiotherapy, physical therapy and therapeutic massage). An additional advantage was her many years of experience in working in the cardiological rehabilitation department and knowledge of preventive healthcare and diet therapy.
This allowed her to undertake comprehensive activities promoting a healthy lifestyle and improving the quality of life and functionality of patients with cardiovascular diseases. In addition, she shared her knowledge in the field of health prophylaxis, diet, and civilization threats by giving lectures with seniors.
Currently she works with a wide range of clients with different sports injuries, orthopaedic patients, various neurological conditions, and elderly people. Agnieszka also volunteered as a physio at a Football club.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, walking activities, and running. Her passion is a healthy lifestyle: she prefers healthy eating and spending her free time actively. Agnieszka is a motivator and coach for everyone who needs help in regaining health and good condition.
In her free time, Agnieszka relaxes by working in the garden and growing various plants.
Sam Boddam-Whetham
Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist MCSP
Sam qualified in Brighton University in 2007. He has vast experience working in and leading an NHS MSK team.
Sams knowledge and experience spreads across all aspects of Physio rehab, with particular experience in pain science, functional rehab and acupuncture. He strongly believes in holistic care incorporating physiotherapy treatment with understanding and management of the whole person. As well as private physio he works as a First Contact Advanced Physio in the NHS.
Sam is activity mad enjoying running, swimming, tennis, golf and yoga. Whilst he has a penchant for DIY and building.
Dominika Dudzinska
Physiotherapist MCSP
Dominika graduated from the University of Management and Administration in Zamosc, Poland, with a masters degree in Physiotherapy.
Dominika is in the process of obtaining a physiotherapist's license at HCPC. Massages and physiotherapy are her life passion that she wants to continually develop. Therefore she approaches treatment of clients with commitment and full professionalism. Dominika likes working with the human body, which brings her a lot of satisfaction and fulfillment. The most important thing for her is the good of the patient, understanding their needs, expectations and their satisfaction.
Dominika completed the following courses: Full body massage. Deep tissue massage. Sports massage. Relaxing massage. Anti -cellulite massage (maderotherapy). Balance taping therapy.
Dominika is an active mother, she likes to spend time with her family on bicycle rides, long walks and playing family games.
Poppy Youngs
Physiotherapist MCSP
Poppy graduated from the University of Nottingham with a first class honours degree in Physiotherapy in 2024.
During this time she undertook the core clinical placements, where she discovered her passion for musculoskeletal physiotherapy. In addition, her experience working with high performance rugby players, sparked an interest in treating acute and chronic sporting injuries.
Additional experience in the NHS, allowed her passion for musculoskeletal physiotherapy to grow, where treating chronic conditions such as lower back pain and osteoarthritis demonstrated the variety MSK provides and confirmed it was the career path she wanted to go down.
Outside her career she loves anything fitness related. Poppy is an avid hockey player and is hoping to compete in a 'Hyrox' in the coming months.
Chloé Poole
Personal Trainer and Sports Masseuse
Chloé loves her training, so be prepared to be motivated.
An early love of football obviously ignited her interest in health and fitness. Her football career lead to her working in the gym environment, training, coaching and encouraging all levels of abilities professionally since 2018. Whilst achieving her NVQ Diploma in Personal Training and NVQ Diploma in Sports Massage in to level 3 in both studies, so you're in excellent hands with Chloé.
Chloé strongly believes that the key to improvement is motivation. So count on genuine encouragement with her personal training and skilful tuition.
Ask her about competing as an amateur boxer and the training that she does to enable her to compete!
Gregg Roome
Personal Trainer
Greg discovered resistance training during college and it quickly became part of his lifestyle. He qualified as a Personal Trainer in 2017 and soon started working at a gym in Castle Cary.
There he helped oversee a GP referral scheme as well as training a variety of people with differing goals and abilities. Now Greg has become self employed, offering a mobile service helping people to lose weight and become fitter and stronger.
He’s now part of the Wells Clinic offering Physio Fitness, small group and 1-2-1 sessions.
Lilly Paul
Sports Masseuse
I have always had a keen interest in sports, health and well-being. This led me to graduating with a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science at Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2023.
This course combined my passion for sports with my keen interest in the science behind human performance. During my degree I found interest in rehabilitation and recovery, which encouraged me to complete my Level 3 Sports Massage course.
In time I hope to progress into physiotherapy. During my spare time I enjoy playing netball, going to the gym and running, which gives me broad insight into lots of sporting injuries.
